Penn 535, pair of custom reels. A pair of penn 535 custom reels, geared down to 4:1 with immense brass gearing sourced from the USA and fitted with mag units and stainless frame bars... You all know how good these reels are as 6:1 geared rough ground reels for beach fishing.. Well, i decided i would customise them for uptiding from a boat so bought the 4:1 gear sets from USA and magged them to tame any whiplash, i have only used them twice in six years as i prefer my shimano sargasso fixed spool reels and with the mags on these reels cast with wonderfully predictable control and minimal thumbing... Just about as good as you will find these legendary work horse reels with no cracks to the graphite frames whatsoever and smooth as a babes bum... I have a box of the original parts, 6:1 gears, sideplates and a new spare spool to accompany them... Just been to shed and found the huge amount of spares with these reels spools, brand new handles, 6:1gear sets, old drag washers where i replaced withcarbontek, two original sideplates and a mag one, frame bars, various special washers for the build....
