Vintage Penn 117L 14/0 Penn Senator Big Game Reel Penn Senator 14/0

This reel came out of an estate. It had belonged to the former owner of Mystic Marine in Mystic, Connecticut. The reel has a harness assembly and rod clamp w/ nuts as seen in pictures.

The reel is used and in very good condition. It has some light pitting especially on pillars. There are no cracks on the side plates or chrome rims. The plastic handle knob is solid and sturdy though it has a few faint crack lines use. The big spool has very little pitting and looks great.

Overall the reel looks super nice for it's age and use. Reel is Penn high quality and very heavy! The reel is circa late 1940's - 1950's as it has the original very thick drag washers. It is in good working order. The star drag, drags, freespool lever, spool and clicker all work properly.

Spool is very smooth with no sticking. Handle and knob rotate nice and smooth. I had this serviced by J&B Tackle early this year. Had a good internal cleaning etc. Works great and is ready for fishing. The old 14/0 Senator reel is harder to find in this condition. This is a highly desirable Penn reel.
