Vintage Penn 420SS Ultralight fishing reel Metal body, discontinued in 1992. Retrieve ratio-5.1:1 Line capacity- 2lb-185yds, 4lb-150yds, 6lb-120yds. Excellent ultralight tackle spinning reel for shore and boat in fresh or salt water. This reel is the older all Metal body reel which were quality made in U.

I believe reel is loaded with 4 pound line. Condition: This reel is in ultra smooth, excellent mechanical condition and very good cosmetic condition. All functions work smoothly: crank, and anti reverse. The drag is very smooth. Some very, very light marks on body. Reel has been partially disassembled, inspected, greased (the grease is green Phil Wood waterproof grease), lubed with Teflon oil at all pivot points, cleaned and reassembled.

So many things are made in China these days. And so are Penn reels made in China now. They may look good but are made with inferior materials and their quality may be sketchy at best. I'm a firm believer in quality vintage items. Quality crafted vintage items will outlast anything made today and if taken care of, will last a lifetime (my editorial comment).
