Vintage Penn 9500SS Heavy Duty fishing reel Metal body reel. Retrieve ratio-4.2:1 Line capacity- 20lb-430yds, 25lb-375yds, 30lb-300yds. Excellent heavy duty tackle spinning reel for shore and boat in fresh or salt water. This reel is the older all Metal body reel which were quality made in U. I believe reel is loaded with 25 pound line.

Condition: This reel is in ultra smooth, excellent mechanical condition and very good cosmetic condition. All functions work smoothly: crank, anti reverse and drag rachet. The drag is very smooth. Some very, very light marks on body. Reel has been partially disassembled, inspected, greased (the grease is green Phil Wood waterproof grease), lubed with Teflon oil at all pivot points, cleaned and reassembled.

So many things are made in China these days. And so are Penn reels made in China now. They may look good but are made with inferior materials and their quality may be sketchy at best. I'm a firm believer in quality vintage items.

Quality crafted vintage items will outlast anything made today and if taken care of, will last a lifetime (my editorial comment).
