Vintage Penn Jigmaster 500 Fishing Reel + The Box Extra Spool Steel Gears & Guts

500 FISHING REEL WITH THE ORIGINAL BOX EXTRA SPOOL AND STEEL GEARS AND GUTS. 500 with the original blue and white box, an extra spool & steel gears and guts. Completely disassembled, cleaned and serviced on April 5, 2025.

Steel gears and guts including a steel bridge plate, steel eccentric jack, steel eccentric and a steel main gear. Quick take-apart feature that allows anglers to change spools and line classes while on the water. Dark maroon lightweight plastic spool. Extra plastic spool is included in the box.

Precision machined gears with a steel main gear and a stainless steel pinion gear. Vintage extra large counter balanced handle with a RED torpedo knob. Chrome-plated metal rod clamp with screws and nuts is included.

The Penn Jigmaster has a proven track record as a more than capable casting reel. For years, anglers have trusted the Jigmaster for their prized catch and it is still going strong as a favorite casting reel for anglers fishing the albacore day boats on the West Coast, as well as kingfish anglers in the Southeast. This is also a great reel for school-sized yellowfin and bluefin tuna, yellowtail, wahoo, bonito, bass, barracuda and shallow water bottom fishing for halibut, lingcod and red snapper. The Jigmaster features a quick take-apart feature that allows anglers to change spools and line classes while on the water. This little trick has saved more than one or two fishing trips for anglers, when the fish become line and leader shy and scaling down of tackle is required.

Needless to say, keeping a spare spool or two on the boat or tackle box is a great idea, and allows anglers to move up or down a line class in a matter of seconds. This reel is a must for your fishing arsenal. This is a very nice Vintage Penn Jigmaster No.
