Vintage Penn Silver Beach 97 Reel Pre-war, No Part Numbers. Features take-apart construction allowing for easy maintenance and spool changes. Note the line and yardage capacities indicated on the base of the reel seat, this is consistent with how some reel manufacturers marketed their reels in the pre-war period. "Grease" port labeled as such on handle side plate versus "Lubricant" on more recent Penn reels. Reel has chrome loss due to oxidation.

Upper edges of right side plate worn from free spool clutch lever usage over the decades. This reel functions beautifully with excellent free spool. See photos for specifics on overall condition. The 97 and 98 Silverbeach models were introduced by Penn in 1938. The Silverbeach was later reintroduced as the Silverbeach 99 (post WWII). Please feel free to ask questions.
